I was working on this piece and Steve Carpenter suggested that I do a series of them (Steve is big on series). He suggested showing other stages of their courtship - maybe them in the moonlight snuggling or getting married under the rose bushes. Being in a cynical mood that day all I could picture was them in front of a Judge sorting out their nut collection. Thus no follow up paintings.
